Earliest reference describes Christ as 'magician'

Is this the first century equivalent of a coffee mug that says "I (heart) Jesus?"

This is a very interesting story, nonetheless.

Here's a sort of companion piece addressing if Jesus walked on water or ice.

We sell Virgin of Guadelupe and St Jude candles in the Mexican food section in aisle three at Kroger.
You may recall the Virgin of Guadelupe from elementary school.
We also sell Joan of Arc kidney beans.
We sell a lot of other religious oriented items including Hebrew National "We Answer to a Higher Authority" kosher hot dogs.

I think the Gospels and New Testament have as much power and meaning without the supernatural interpretation of miracles as with them. Maybe more. Anyone who cannot see the influence of Old Testament stories and other stories (Hercules death, ascending to heaven/ half man/half god/son of zues) misses out on the part of the story of Chirst building on this foundation.
